Names

How did your parents choose your name(s)?

My parents chose my name based on family tradition. They wanted to honor my grandmother by using her name as a part of mine, which I think is a lovely way to keep family heritage alive.

Does your name have any special meaning?

Yes, my name has a special meaning. It means “bright” or “radiant,” which reflects my parents’ hopes for me to bring positivity and light into the lives of others.

Is your name common or unusual in your country?

My name is somewhat common in my country, but it’s not overly popular. This gives me a sense of individuality while still feeling connected to others who share the name.

If you could change your name, would you? Why/Why not?

I wouldn’t change my name because I feel a strong connection to it. It represents my identity and family history, which are important to me.

Describe a TV Documentary You Watched That Was Particularly Interesting

One documentary that really captured my attention was about climate change. It focused on the effects of global warming on different ecosystems and how it impacts wildlife.

I decided to watch it because I’m concerned about environmental issues and wanted to learn more about what’s happening around the world. The documentary featured stunning visuals of nature and real-life stories from scientists and activists, which made it even more engaging.

During the documentary, I learned about the melting ice caps, rising sea levels, and the threats to various animal species. It was eye-opening to see the data presented so vividly and understand the urgency of the situation.

What made this documentary particularly interesting was its powerful message and the call to action it presented. It not only educated viewers about the challenges we face but also inspired me to think about ways I could contribute to positive change in my own life.

Part 3 (Discussion)

Different Types of TV Programs

What are the most popular kinds of TV programs in your country? Why is this?

In my country, reality shows and dramas are among the most popular. People enjoy the entertainment and emotional engagement that these genres provide, allowing them to escape their daily lives for a while.

Do you think there are too many game shows on TV nowadays? Why?

I believe there are quite a few game shows on TV, and while they can be entertaining, they sometimes feel repetitive. It would be nice to see more variety in programming that offers different perspectives and stories.

Do you think TV is the main way for people to get the news in your country? What other ways are there?

TV is still a significant source of news, but many people also rely on online platforms, social media, and news apps for updates. The accessibility of information has increased, giving people more choices on how to stay informed.
