Travel

Do you enjoy travelling? Why/Why not?

Yes, I enjoy travelling because it allows me to explore new cultures, meet different people, and experience different environments. I find it exciting to discover new places and try local foods.

Have you done much travelling? Why/Why not?

I have done some travelling, but not as much as I would like. I usually travel during school holidays or family vacations, but I hope to visit more places in the future.

Do you think it’s better to travel alone or with other people? Why?

I think it’s better to travel with other people because sharing experiences makes the journey more enjoyable. You can create memories together and help each other out if anything goes wrong.

Where would you like to travel in the future? Why?

In the future, I would like to travel to Japan. I am fascinated by its rich culture, delicious food, and beautiful landscapes. Plus, I want to experience the blend of traditional and modern life there.

Part 2 (Long Turn / Cue Card)

Describe a Child That You Know

I know a child named Riya, who is my neighbor. I see her almost every day when I go outside to play or when she visits my house.

Riya is 7 years old, and she is full of energy and curiosity. She loves to explore the outdoors and often asks questions about everything she sees. She is friendly and always tries to make new friends at school and in our neighborhood.

I feel really happy when I’m around Riya because her enthusiasm for life is contagious. She reminds me to appreciate the little things and enjoy being a kid. I enjoy playing games with her and listening to her funny stories.

Part 3 (Discussion)
The examiner asks you about yourself, your home, work or studies, and other familiar topics.

Relationships Between Parents and Children

How much time do children spend with their parents in your country? Do you think that is enough?

In my country, children spend a good amount of time with their parents, especially during meals and on weekends. However, with busy work schedules, some parents may not have enough quality time to spend with their children. I believe more time together would strengthen their bond.

How important do you think spending time together is for the relationships between parents and children? Why?

Spending time together is very important for building strong relationships. It helps create trust and understanding, and parents can guide their children better when they share experiences and communicate regularly.

Have relationships between parents and children changed in recent years? Why do you think that is?

Yes, I think relationships have changed, mainly due to technology. Parents often spend more time on their devices, and children may have less face-to-face interaction with them. This can lead to a disconnect in communication.

Children’s Free-Time Activities

What are the most popular free-time activities with children today?

Today, popular free-time activities for children include playing video games, watching movies, and engaging in sports. Many kids also enjoy outdoor activities like biking and playing in parks.

Do you think the free-time activities children do today are good for their health? Why is that?

Some activities, like playing sports and being active outdoors, are good for health because they encourage physical exercise. However, excessive screen time from video games and movies can lead to a sedentary lifestyle, which is not healthy.

How do you think children’s activities will change in the future? Will this be a positive change?

I think children’s activities will increasingly involve technology, like virtual reality games and online learning. While this can be positive for developing tech skills, it’s also important to ensure children have time for physical activities and social interactions with peers. Balancing both will be key for their overall well-being.
